Stablecoin issuer Circle plans to expand to about 50 emerging and developing markets to meet the growing demand for digital dollar payments in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The circulation of USDC is approximately $73.3 billion, accounting for about a quarter of the stablecoin market; USDT's market share is close to 60%, higher than USDC.
Circle acquired Tazapay for $400 million, launched the new Arc blockchain, and received approval for a federal trust bank license, which is expected to support its market expansion; a clearer regulatory environment is driving the adoption of stablecoins.
