Bitcoin News posted on the X platform that Lewis Barber has sued BitMEX operator HDR Global Trading in the London Commercial Court, claiming 324.8 BTC, approximately 27.2 million USD.
The lawsuit involves 1,053 loss-making perpetual contract trades between 2018 and 2022, asserting that HDR Global Trading was not authorized by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to provide UK derivatives services, and therefore the related trades should not be enforceable. BitMEX stated that it has submitted the lawsuit but has not yet been served; the exchange closed in September.
