According to Law360, the cryptocurrency asset theft case involving Uranium Finance has begun trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Prosecutors allege that Maryland cybersecurity consultant Jonathan Spalletta exploited a vulnerability in the protocol's smart contract to launch an attack in 2021, during which the second attack transferred approximately $53.3 million from 26 liquidity pools, causing the protocol to cease operations. The statements made are allegations by the prosecution and do not constitute a conviction.
