Alibaba tests the waters with AI terminal QwenBook

According to LatePost, the Alibaba Cloud Shadow team is developing an AI device called QwenBook, positioned as a native intelligent agent computer, resembling the Qianwen tablet. The project started in April this year, with a team of about 150 people, integrating models including Qwen3.8-Max and Qwen3.8-Flash. The complete product is expected to be released by the end of this year or early next year.

The report states that QwenBook is similar in concept to the Doubao phone, both attempting to push the model to the system's core. After the launch of the first generation Doubao phone, WeChat, Taobao, Meituan, Pinduoduo, and others successively prohibited it from replacing user operations through screen reading and simulated clicks. The Nubia NaviX Ultra, which went on sale on September 16, retains the GUI approach, attempting to allow applications to open services to the Agent through MCP, A2A, or dedicated interfaces.
