About Subzero Labs
Subzero Labs is the original developer of Rialo, a Layer 1 aimed at real-world applications and AI agents whose contracts can be written in RISC-V or Solana VM-compatible form. It addresses the inability of onchain programs to reach off-chain systems directly: Rialo has native webcalls and timers, so a contract can call external interfaces on an event and enforce deadlines automatically, and threshold keys plus a confidential execution environment push account recovery and private computation into the protocol, reducing assembly of external oracles and messaging layers.
In the agent economy it supplies the execution and settlement base: the SCALE template writes task payment, deadline and acceptance terms into a contract and releases funds after a third-party judge agent checks quality, the flow its demonstration Twitter bot uses to outsource image generation. Against general-purpose L1s it makes identity, timing and external calls system primitives, which means applications are rebuilt around them, with verifiable deployment so far concentrated in agent payments and RWA pilots.
In May 2026, Subzero Labs opened the Rialo demo testnet at playground.rialo.io, where developers can claim test tokens and try four features: Meridian, Guarded Vault, Ermac and Project 1337. A points system opened at the same time.
Subzero Labs' Rialo builds a layer-1 network on the RISC-V instruction set while staying compatible with the Solana VM, letting native programs call off-chain data and scheduled tasks directly. The team is led by its co-founders, the chief executive and the chief technology officer, and draws heavily on high-frequency trading and compiler backgrounds.
Subzero Labs will expand the testnet to a public validator set in the fourth quarter of 2026, launch mainnet in 2027, and open scheduled tasks and external data feeds to payments and gaming applications.

Recent team change at Subzero Labs: Researcher Jan Camenisch joined in December 2025 and left in May 2026, after about 5 months. He is a renowned cryptographer, formerly leading privacy research at IBM and serving as CTO of DFINITY. His departure may impact R&D. No new hires were reported.
