About ResearchHub
ResearchHub is an open science platform that accelerates research through community-driven peer review and direct crowdfunding of preregistered studies. Its core business includes: 1) a daily personalized feed of cutting-edge papers where qualified reviewers earn ResearchCoin (RSC) for public peer review; 2) a funding mechanism where researchers submit 2-4 page preregistrations (background, hypothesis, methods, statistical plan, budget) for community crowdfunding via RSC; 3) an Endowment system that lets RSC holders earn daily Funding Credits (tracking RSC price) without spending principal, which can only be used to fund research. In 2019, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong published a post outlining five major challenges in science, and soon after co-founded ResearchHub with Patrick Joyce, aiming to make research as collaborative and transparent as open-source software.
