CNPY is Canopy network's native token, used for transaction fees, staking to secure the network, and subsidizing nested chains via shared security. Block rewards halve at fixed block intervals, with an additional one-time staking mint.

About Canopy
Canopy is a blockchain framework for AI-assisted development that lets an application start as a Nested Chain and take on sovereignty later. It targets the coordination cost of launching an appchain: validators, sequencers, data availability and cross-chain channels each take months to arrange. Canopy compresses deployment into configuration, letting a chain inherit security and liquidity from a root chain while keeping the option to migrate or re-root, with the token used for validation, delegation and inter-chain security settlement.
Technically it folds in components acquired from Tanssi: an appchain deployment console, sequencer assignment and block production logic, and a trust-minimised Ethereum bridge built on Snowbridge, so a new chain can produce blocks and bridge at launch. Its users are developers generating applications with Claude Code, Cursor and similar tools. Public access opened in February 2026, after a closed environment created nearly 27,000 chains in twelve days.
Canopy, an AI-native Layer 1 development framework, has progressed through several significant milestones. In early 2025, it completed a private testnet, recording nearly 27,000 chain deployments within the first 12 days, demonstrating strong early builder adoption. This was followed by a public testnet launch on February 12, expanding access to a wider developer community. The project raised $8.5 million in seed funding, with participation from Arrington Capital, Fenbushi Capital, and Borderless Capital, to accelerate mainnet development and AI-native tooling. A strategic acquisition of Tanssi's infrastructure technology integrated proven, production-tested components, shortening the timeline to mainnet. The testnet metrics grew to over 331,000 launches, reflecting sustained demand. Canopy's long-term vision centers on a fully integrated environment where non-technical founders can create, deploy, and upgrade applications without leaving the platform, with mainnet launch as the near-term focus.
Listings: CNPY went live on September 7 across Binance Alpha (180 tokens for 235 points), OKX, Bitget, Gate, MEXC and Bitvavo, with MEXC opening 20x perpetuals the same day; it fell 26.9% to $0.4096 in the September 20 market selloff.
Progress and supply: Canopy closed an $8.5 million seed round on June 25 and bought Tanssi's core technology on June 3. Its testnet has hosted over 1.1 million project launches and 42,000 developers, but mainnet is still pending; 67.1 million tokens circulate against a 560 million total.
On September 7, 2026 Canopy's mainnet went live and CNPY began trading on LBank, MEXC and other venues, opening at $0.1928 and reaching $0.2265 within a week after touching $0.305. Less than three months earlier it closed an $8.5 million seed round on June 25, and on June 3 it acquired the core technology of Tanssi Network, including an appchain console, a block-producing sequencer and a Snowbridge-based Ethereum bridge, bringing Arrington Capital, Fenbushi Capital, Borderless Capital and SNZ onto the cap table.
The architecture is chains inside a chain. A new app starts as a Nested Chain that borrows Canopy's validators for day-one security, then moves toward independence as its own validator set grows, with inter-chain messaging that avoids external bridges. Consensus runs on NestBFT, combining proof of stake with proof of age; the token covers fees and staking, and the whitepaper describes a fair launch with no premine, block rewards and halvings on a 21 million supply. The testnet generated more than 620,000 virtual chains and the site counts 350,000 test users.
Canopy will convert testnet apps into live mainnet chains, harden the sequencer and bridge for production, and use restaked shared security to lower the cost of starting a new chain.
