About UXD
UXD is a decentralized stablecoin protocol built on Solana, issuing the UXD stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. Its core mechanism involves users depositing crypto assets like SOL, which the protocol then hedges by opening short perpetual futures positions, creating a delta-neutral position that backs each UXD token 1:1. This design allows users to mint UXD with $1 of collateral without over-collateralization, addressing the capital inefficiency of traditional stablecoins like DAI. The protocol generates yield from funding rates of perpetual futures; positive rates distribute interest to stakeholders and the insurance fund, while negative rates are paid from the insurance fund to protect holders. UXD's competitive edge lies in its delta-neutral strategy, which maintains peg stability while offering capital efficiency and native yield, solving the stablecoin trilemma of stability, decentralization, and capital efficiency. Its governance token, UXP, captures value from protocol cash flows and serves as a backstop for the insurance fund.
Over the past six months (2026-03-01 to 2026-09-01), UXD has focused on deepening Solana ecosystem integrations, expanding perpetual swap venue partnerships, and enhancing the insurance fund's resilience. Notably, the protocol experienced a significant drawdown in its insurance fund during a market volatility event in 2025, but it has since recovered to full capitalization, demonstrating the robustness of its risk management. Recent activity on X highlights ongoing efforts to improve transparency around fund performance and to educate users on delta-neutral mechanics. However, no major new product launches or partnerships have been announced in this period, and development appears focused on incremental improvements and community engagement rather than headline features.
