About Tabit
Tabit Insurance is a digital insurer holding a Barbados Class 2 (re)insurance license. It focuses on traditional insurance and reinsurance; policies and premiums are denominated in fiat currency, yet regulatory capital can be held entirely in Bitcoin . It serves institutions needing underwriting capacity and capital allocation, including areas such as directors and officers liability .
Its core narrative is bringing Bitcoin onto a regulated insurance balance sheet: it gives the insurance industry a new source of capital while offering Bitcoin holders a regulated, dollar-denominated yield. Compared to relying on traditional yield assets such as private credit, Tabit emphasizes that Bitcoin regulatory capital is visible on-chain and more transparent. It also highlights that traditional insurance capital pools are constrained, while digital-asset holders lack compliant yield opportunities .
Over the past six months, Tabit took part in industry events including RIMS RISKWORLD, The Bitcoin Conference, and an Alberta trade mission; joined the Global Blockchain Business Council; was included in GBBC’s real-world blockchain use-case handbook; and became a finalist for Startup of the Year at the 2026 Insurance Insider US Awards . Overall, it is gaining wider recognition in pushing the integration of digital assets and (re)insurance.
Over the past six months, Tabit has made significant progress. In June 2026, Ra Pay AI completed the first live AI agent payment for Tabit, marking the first such transaction by a regulated reinsurer and establishing two industry firsts: a payment primitive purpose-built for AI agents and the first AI agent payment executed for a regulated (re)insurer. Tabit was also featured in the Global Blockchain Business Council's 101 Real-World Blockchain Use Cases Handbook, a resource used by government agencies, regulators, and central banks.
Looking ahead, Tabit's official development focus centers on scaling its Bitcoin-backed reinsurance model. The company aims to convert idle Bitcoin into productive capital for the global reinsurance market, allowing BTC holders to generate USD yield without selling, lending, or rehypothecating their assets. Tabit plans to continue leveraging Barbados' Class 2 insurance license and Solvency I framework, which recognizes Bitcoin and other digital assets as admissible capital, to expand its product offerings and drive broader adoption of digital assets in the traditional insurance industry.
