About Solflare

Solflare is a non-custodial wallet built specifically for the Solana blockchain, available as a browser extension and mobile app. Its core business covers token and NFT management, SOL staking, in-wallet token swaps, fiat-to-crypto purchases, and hardware wallet support (e.g., Ledger). The wallet emphasizes security and user experience, currently managing over $20 billion in assets for more than 4 million users.

Its main value proposition is providing a secure and easy entry point into the Solana ecosystem. It addresses the pain point of fragmented asset management by allowing users to store, trade, stake, and interact with decentralized applications in one place. For newcomers, it simplifies the process of buying crypto with fiat, while advanced users benefit from hardware wallet integration and deep access to Solana's DeFi and NFT ecosystems.

In the past six months, Solflare has made several notable moves. It partnered with Solana Name Service to support the upgrade of .sol domain names, with registrations paused on August 17, 2026, ahead of a snapshot. It also integrated Aurora Intents, a cross-chain bridge solution, enabling deposits from Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other networks directly into Solflare wallets, with zero fees on stablecoin transfers for the first 30 days. Additionally, the company launched the Solflare Card, a self-custody debit card that allows users to spend USDC directly from their wallets, powered by Mastercard and accepted at over 100 million merchants.

One important negative event occurred in August 2026: Solflare issued a security warning about fraudulent activities related to the .sol domain upgrade, reminding users that the team would never ask for private keys or payments. This highlights ongoing risks in the crypto space, though no breach of the wallet itself was reported.

Solflare is a non-custodial wallet built specifically for the Solana ecosystem, established in 2021 and now managing over $20 billion in user assets. Its development is marked by two significant milestones.

In July 2026, the sudden collapse of card issuer Kulipa forced Solflare to suspend its card services. However, due to the wallet's self-custodial architecture, user funds remained secure in their own wallets, never held by third parties. This incident highlighted the resilience of its design.

In December 2025, Solflare integrated Kalshi-powered prediction markets, enabling users to trade on real-world events with zero gas fees. This move brought regulated, CFTC-compliant event trading directly into the wallet interface, significantly lowering entry barriers and expanding Solana's real-world use cases.

Solflare's key developments over the past six months center on expanding tokenized assets and payment infrastructure. In late June, the wallet integrated 134 xStocks (tokenized equities/ETFs issued by Backed Finance via Kraken), alongside Google Pay onramp support and a Cards Borrow feature allowing SOL-collateralized USDC loans. These moves align with Solana's record $1.04B weekly tokenized equity volume.

On July 28, Solflare Cards were temporarily paused after issuing partner Kulipa ceased operations. The team is migrating to a new provider, with the upgraded card expected in August, featuring Apple Pay/Google Pay support, higher limits, and a cashback program. In mid-August, Merchant Cashback launched, offering USDC rewards at 4,000+ retailers (Nike, Best Buy, Sephora).

Future roadmap priorities: completing the card provider transition, expanding xStocks inventory, deepening fiat on/off ramps, and growing the cashback ecosystem. The wallet remains fully operational with staking, swaps, and Borrow unaffected.
