About SEDA

SEDA is a cross-chain oracle network built on the Cosmos SDK, designed to provide customizable and programmable data feeds for blockchain applications. Unlike traditional oracles that offer fixed data sources and aggregation methods, SEDA allows developers to deploy Oracle Programs—WASM-compiled logic that defines exactly which data sources to query, how to weight them, and how to compute the final result. This modular approach lets protocols tailor data feeds to their specific needs, whether for DeFi pricing, prediction markets, or any other use case requiring reliable off-chain data.

The core value proposition of SEDA is its flexibility and cross-chain interoperability. Because it operates as its own Layer 1 chain, it can relay data to any connected blockchain without the need for per-chain oracle deployments. Developers write their data logic once and route results to multiple chains, significantly reducing maintenance overhead. Additionally, SEDA supports any HTTP-accessible data source, including private or authenticated APIs, which expands the range of possible use cases beyond what typical oracles can serve.

The market pain point SEDA addresses is the rigidity of existing oracle solutions. Traditional oracles often force developers to accept predefined data feeds and aggregation formulas, which may not fit specific risk parameters or data requirements. This lack of customization can lead to inefficiencies, increased trust assumptions, or even systemic risks in DeFi protocols. SEDA solves this by giving developers full control over the entire data pipeline—from source selection to final computation—while maintaining decentralization and verifiability through its validator network.

In the past six months (February to August 2026), SEDA has continued to expand its ecosystem and technical capabilities. The network has seen increased adoption among DeFi protocols seeking custom oracle solutions, particularly in niche markets such as sports prediction and real-world asset pricing. Development efforts have focused on improving the developer experience, including enhanced documentation and tooling for deploying Oracle Programs. The team has also been working on expanding cross-chain integrations, making it easier for protocols on various L1s and L2s to access SEDA's data infrastructure. While specific metrics are not publicly disclosed, the project has maintained active development and community engagement throughout this period.

SEDA's development journey includes several milestones with long-term significance. In 2022, the team launched Flux, a first-party oracle on NEAR, Aurora, and Evmos, which quickly grew its total value secured to $3.58 billion within 8 weeks, validating the demand for cross-chain data solutions. This success exposed the limitations of traditional oracle designs and directly inspired the creation of SEDA.

In early 2023, SEDA was conceptualized as a permissionless, chain-agnostic, and programmable modular data layer, raising $25M in funding. The protocol's architecture introduced an intent-based model where any network can access data without native integrations, fundamentally reducing deployment friction from months to days.

A pivotal moment came with the launch of testnet-1 in April 2023, marking the first working implementation of SEDA's core mechanism: off-chain data requests processed through WASM-based overlay nodes with on-chain tallying and batching. This validated the technical feasibility of the modular design.

The most significant milestone occurred with the mainnet launch, which introduced "Oracles 2.0" and the v1.0.0 upgrade. This production release enabled builders to deploy and execute Oracle Programs on Mainnet, featuring WASM storage, the Core Contract for data request lifecycle management, and cryptographic proof batching for tamper-resistant results. The upgrade also included a critical security patch for the Cosmos SDK distribution module.

These milestones collectively established SEDA as a foundational infrastructure layer, moving beyond single-chain oracles toward a standardized, multi-chain data transport protocol.

Positive: In early September 2026, SEDA surged ~90% in 7 days and 48% in 24 hours, reaching $0.064 with a ~$47M market cap. Cumulative burns exceeded 5 million SEDA, creating deflationary pressure. Cumulative on-chain volume surpassed $17 billion, reflecting growing adoption. Tokens are fully unlocked, eliminating future financing-round unlock risk.

Negative: Total supply has no fixed cap; governance-defined inflation may offset burns. Full unlock means all tokens circulate, potentially increasing supply pressure.
