About play.fun
play.fun is a play-to-earn gaming platform deployed on Solana, officially launched in February 2026. Its core model: each game issues its own "playcoin" token, priced and traded via bonding curve mechanics, and tokens can be listed on decentralized exchanges once they reach a certain market cap. Players receive daily token rewards based on leaderboard performance, funded by trading fees; game developers earn directly from trading fees as well.
The platform aims to solve two problems: first, traditional app stores take a 30% cut and developers must pay their own marketing costs; second, virally spread games cannot convert attention into actual revenue. play.fun embeds token speculation into the game loop itself, while requiring tokens to have in-game utility (unlocking items, entering tournaments, upgrades, etc.), tying token demand to real gameplay behavior.
In the past six months, the platform has grown to over 273 games; it launched the Game Creator tool, which allows AI coding assistants to generate Phaser 3 or Three.js games with one command, including procedural audio generation, automated testing, and one-click deployment. It should be noted that this sector remains in an early experimental stage, token prices are highly volatile, and the long-term sustainability of the play-to-earn economic model has yet to be verified.
