About Pacifica
Pacifica is a decentralized perpetual contract exchange built on Solana. Its core business is offering perpetual futures across crypto, equities, FX, and commodities, plus a spot market for SOL. It uses a hybrid architecture: order matching happens off-chain for speed, while settlement and asset custody stay on-chain. This addresses the trade-off between centralized exchanges (fast but custodial) and typical DEXs (self-custodial but slow or limited). Users keep control of their funds while getting CEX-like trading speed and features such as up to 50x leverage, hourly funding, and cross/isolated margin modes.
Over the past six months (March to September 2026), Pacifica expanded its market coverage significantly. New listings included equity perps like GOOGL, TSLA, NVDA, and MSTR; FX pairs like EURUSD and USDJPY; commodities such as XAU, XAG, and CL; and index/ETF products like SP500 and URNM. It also launched a SOL-USDC spot market and a reduced-leverage market tracking Backpack's spot price. The platform continued operating its hybrid model, with oracle prices drawn from multiple venues to reduce reliance on any single source. No major negative events were reported in the available information.
Pacifica was founded in January 2025 by three founders including Constance Wang, former COO of FTX, as a decentralized perpetual contract trading platform on Solana.
On June 10, 2025, Pacifica's mainnet officially launched, featuring a hybrid architecture with off-chain matching and on-chain settlement, providing non-custodial users with high-leverage perpetual trading.
On October 29 of the same year, the platform listed Monad (MON) pre-market perpetual contracts with up to 3x leverage, marking its expansion into price discovery for unlisted assets.
In December 2025, Pacifica launched a pre-market contract for the Lighter token. According to RootData, the pre-market FDV was approximately $3.4 billion based on pre-market prices, reflecting high expectations for its token economics and ecosystem prospects.
Pacifica, a Solana-based perpetual DEX, has delivered major milestones in the past six months. In April 2026, it launched Vaults on testnet, enabling users to create or join strategy pools with custom parameters such as deposit limits and profit/loss ratios. Later that month, Pacifica introduced its spot market and unified margin system, allowing traders to collateralize spot assets (e.g., SOL/USDC) for perpetual positions, with automatic implicit borrowing in deficit scenarios and net settlement for basis trading. The platform's monthly trading volume surpassed $10 billion in April, with cumulative volume exceeding $146 billion and 24-hour open interest reaching $86 million. It has distributed over 333 million loyalty points to date. Looking ahead, Pacifica emphasizes AI-powered smart trading tools and ecosystem expansion, aiming to integrate advanced automation and broaden its product suite beyond perps, including vaults and spot trading, while maintaining a self-funded, user-centric approach.
