About Open Forest Protocol

Details

Open Forest Protocol (OFP) is a blockchain-based forest carbon credit verification and issuance protocol designed to replace traditional centralized audit processes. It uses a decentralized validator network to vote on forest monitoring data uploaded by project developers, with all data publicly accessible, enhancing the credibility and transparency of carbon credits. Project developers use the platform to register land, submit periodic ground monitoring data, and validators use OPN tokens to participate in decisions. If the majority of validators agree, the data is approved and carbon credits can be issued. This mechanism lowers verification barriers for small and medium-sized projects and supports afforestation, reforestation, and agroforestry types.
