About Metropolis
Metropolis is a discrete liquidity market-making exchange on Sonic that splits the price curve into bins, each priced with a constant-sum formula. Liquidity providers can press capital into a single band, trades inside a band execute without slippage, and crossing bands moves bin by bin, giving market makers finer quote control and giving traders near-zero slippage on major pairs, with fees set per bin tier.
METRO launched through a fair distribution, with 5 million tokens placed in the launch contract and opened in three phases, where wallets holding a METRONIX collectible received higher limits in the first phase. Staking METRO shares protocol fees with weight scaled by lock duration, and lockers vote every two weeks on where 30% of emissions flow, with projects able to bid for that flow and create a recurring auction for emissions.
Metropolis charges a transaction fee on every swap in its DLMM pools, with 80% of the earned trading fees distributed to the liquidity providers of the crossed bin.
Metropolis allocates 20% of the earned DLMM trading fees to $METRO token stakers, with fees calculated per bin and automatically compounded back into the active bin.
