About Mansa Finance

Mansa Finance is a real-world asset (RWA) DeFi protocol that provides short-term liquidity to fintech companies in emerging markets, focusing on cross-border payments and trade financing.

Market pain point: Traditional correspondent banking requires funds to be pre-positioned in each corridor, leaving trillions of dollars idle and making cross-border settlement slow (3–5 business days) and expensive. Smaller payment companies are especially constrained by balance sheet limits.

Core solution: Mansa acts as a settlement layer that funds client transactions from its own balance sheet at the moment of settlement, using stablecoins (primarily USDT) to bridge into local currencies. This eliminates the need for prefunded accounts, accelerates settlement to near-instant (e.g., 30 minutes into China), and reduces costs. The protocol also uses an AI credit agent for underwriting.

Recent development (March–September 2026): Mansa has settled over $540 million across 40+ currency corridors. Its China payout corridor, launched in July 2026, surpassed a $200 million annualized run rate within two weeks. Colombia and India corridors are expanding rapidly, with Nigeria, Ghana, and Colombia each showing 13–31% month-over-month volume growth in June 2026. A $100 million credit facility was secured to expand its balance sheet. Notable risks include regulatory uncertainty around stablecoins in various jurisdictions, which could affect operations.

In the past six months, Mansa Finance, as a real-world asset (RWA) DeFi protocol, achieved several key milestones. In July 2026, its China corridor went live, surpassing $10 million in monthly transaction volume with same-day settlement, significantly improving cross-border payment efficiency between China, Africa, and Latin America. In June, Mansa partnered with Stables to provide USDT liquidity support for Asian markets, covering over 40 currency corridors. As of September 2026, Mansa's cumulative settlement volume reached approximately $540 million, with Colombia and India emerging as the fastest-growing corridors, posting monthly growth rates of 19% and 31%, respectively.

On the funding front, in February 2026, Mansa completed a $10 million raise, including a $3 million pre-seed led by Tether, plus $7 million in liquidity capital, and secured an additional $100 million credit line to expand its balance sheet.

Officially announced future priorities include: reaching $2 billion in cumulative settlement volume by end-2026 and $4 billion by 2027; increasing monthly processing to $50-100 million; prioritizing expansion into emerging market corridors, especially Southeast Asia and Latin America; and deploying AI-powered credit analysis agents and liquidity management agents to optimize capital efficiency and risk control.
