About Futarchy
Futarchy.fi is a decentralized governance platform that implements the 'futarchy' concept proposed by economist Robin Hanson: 'vote on values, but bet on beliefs.' Its core business is to replace traditional token-weighted voting with conditional prediction markets. For each proposal, two conditional markets are created—one for 'pass' and one for 'reject'—where participants buy outcome tokens with real money. The market price reflects the community's collective judgment on the proposal's economic impact, and the side with the higher price wins.
The core competitiveness lies in its 'interest-binding' mechanism: unlike traditional DAO voting where the cost of participation is near zero, here wrong judgments directly cause financial loss, forcing participants to research carefully rather than vote casually. This effectively solves the 'apathetic voter' and 'whale capture' problems common in traditional DAOs.
The platform also extends futarchy to fundraising through its Launchpad: raised funds go into a treasury managed by conditional markets, and any large expenditure requires market approval, making the funds 'unruggable'—a fundamental difference from typical token launch platforms.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), the platform has seen notable developments: its governance token META2 was listed on Upbit, South Korea's largest exchange, with simultaneous KRW/BTC/USDT trading pairs; major Solana protocols such as Drift, Jito, and Sanctum have adopted its 'Futarchy as a Service' for their own governance; and its Launchpad has successfully raised approximately $25.6 million for 8 projects.
Important negative information: the token has no fixed supply cap and can be inflated through governance, creating dilution risk. There is also brand confusion—the META ticker clashes with Meta Platforms and an old project called Metadium, and CoinMarketCap even lists both 'MetaDAO (old)' and 'MetaDAO (new)', requiring careful contract address verification.
Futarchy was proposed by economist Robin Hanson in 2000, using prediction markets to guide DAO decisions. In November 2023, MetaDAO launched on Solana as the first at-scale on-chain implementation; by early 2025 it had served nine DAOs, with Jito, Marinade, and Sanctum completing Futarchy votes and Sanctum adopting it as its governance core.
In late 2024, Optimism and Uniswap foundations funded Ethereum ecosystem experiments, and Uniswap initiated its first Futarchic governance on Unichain. In 2025, MetaDAO released a launchpad allowing new projects to operate as Futarchies from day one. In 2026, GnosisDAO approved a nine-month advisory pilot, becoming the first major DAO to adopt the mechanism, marking its shift from experimentation to mainstream exploration.

Robin Hanson: Chief Scientist. Associate professor of economics at George Mason University and former research associate at Oxford's Future of Humanity Institute (closed in 2024). In 2000, he pioneered the concept of 'futarchy,' proposing to 'vote on values, but bet on beliefs.' He is a pioneer in prediction markets.
