About Fern

Fern is a Web3 payment company that provides a unified API for businesses to send, receive, and convert money across traditional banking (fiat) and blockchain networks. It supports 180+ countries and 6+ blockchains, including Solana, with stablecoins like USDC and USDT.

Its core value proposition is simplicity: instead of integrating multiple payment providers, banks, and compliance systems separately, developers use one API to access global payments, wallets, KYC/KYB verification, and currency conversion. The platform handles compliance, security (using Fireblocks MPC technology), and routing to find the fastest and most cost-effective transaction path.

Fern solves the pain point of fragmented financial infrastructure. Companies typically need to manage multiple vendors for bank transfers, crypto on/off-ramps, and compliance checks, which is slow, expensive, and operationally complex. Fern replaces this with a single integration, reducing development time from months to about a week.

In the past six months (March–September 2026), Fern launched a developer dashboard, introduced a $0/month Builder tier with pay-as-you-go pricing, and moved its KYB (business verification) API to production. It also made API improvements, such as adding a nationality field and deprecating the taxIdNumber field in favor of nationalIdNumber. No major negative events were reported during this period.
