About exoware
Exoware is a storage and query infrastructure designed for immutable artifacts. Its core services include: log for ordered writes and streaming subscriptions; store for point lookups, range scans, and server-side aggregation; compact for policy-based data pruning; QMDB for authenticated storage proofs; and a DataFusion-powered SQL engine that runs relational queries over the underlying KV store. It also ships Rust/TypeScript SDKs, a local RocksDB-backed simulator, and a web sandbox.
The main differentiators are a contract-first Protobuf/ConnectRPC design, pluggable storage backends, and the unification of immutability, authenticated proofs, and SQL querying behind one API. The problems it addresses are preserving write ordering, enabling efficient query and lifecycle management, and providing verifiable integrity for immutable data in distributed environments.
In the past six months (2026-03-13 to 2026-09-13), the project released v2026.7.0 on 2026-07-15. Highlights include forcing contiguous writes in the simulator, faster QMDB uploads, RocksDB optimizations, DESC pushdown for SQL scans, browser support fixes for the TypeScript SDK, Commonware dependency updates, renaming ingest/stream to log, better namespace APIs for store, and a new validation tool.
Exoware is a contract-first, high-performance infrastructure for persisting and querying immutable artifacts, organized into primitives (server, SDKs, SQL, QMDB, Simplex) and components (log, store) .
A foundational milestone was v2026.4.1, which introduced Streaming QMDB, SQL streaming, and prefix writer/reader, enabling authenticated state proofs and SQL-on-KV over the Exoware API .
v2026.7.0 marked another long-term step: it added a validation tool, renamed ingest/stream into log, improved QMDB upload performance, and pushed DESC scan predicates, reflecting maturation of the query and verification layers . v2026.7.1 then focused on simulator tuning and RocksDB optimizations for large batches .
