About DerivaDEX

DerivaDEX is a decentralized derivatives exchange built on Ethereum, governed by a DAO called DerivaDAO. Its core business is offering crypto perpetual swaps with institutional-grade performance. The platform combines off-chain order matching with on-chain settlement, allowing users to retain non-custodial control of their funds. The native token, DDX, serves governance, fee discount, and staking purposes.

The market pain point DerivaDEX addresses is the trade-off between centralized exchanges (CEXs), which offer strong liquidity and speed but require users to surrender control, and decentralized exchanges (DEXs), which provide user autonomy but often suffer from poor usability and slow execution. DerivaDEX claims to bridge this gap by delivering CEX-level performance—sub-5 millisecond order acknowledgment latency, real-time price feeds, and fast Ethereum deposits/withdrawals—while preserving DeFi's transparency and self-custody. It also incorporates front-running resistance through encrypted order handling and trusted execution environments.

In February 2026, DerivaDEX launched its platform after receiving a T-class license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), becoming the first DAO-governed DEX to operate with a formal regulatory license. This marked a milestone in bridging traditional finance standards with DeFi transparency. As of July 2026, DDX has a total supply cap of 100 million, with approximately 26.09 million in circulation and a market cap of around $1.29 million. The token's all-time high was about $20.76, but it has since declined significantly, reflecting limited market liquidity and a market cap ranking around 2000th.

DerivaDEX, a decentralized derivatives exchange, launched with a vision to combine centralized performance with decentralized autonomy. Key milestones include: the introduction of the protocol and its tokenomics (2020), the launch of insurance mining and DerivaDAO governance (early 2021), the testnet release with feature-complete functionality and trading incentives (Q1 2021), and the mainnet proposal (Proposal #13) for a guarded launch with conservative parameters (Q2 2021). These events mark the transition from concept to community-governed live trading.
