Details

Cryptosat is a company that leverages low-earth-orbit satellites to provide blockchain and cryptographic infrastructure services. It generates and broadcasts unpredictable randomness, trusted timestamps, and delay-encryption keys through hardware modules running on satellites, offering a physically isolated root of trust for smart contracts, cross-chain atomic swaps, sealed-bid auctions, and more. The core mechanism involves performing key generation and release processes on satellites, utilizing physical isolation and orbital motion to provide verifiable time delays, thereby enhancing the security and fairness of decentralized applications.
