About Crossmint
Crossmint is a blockchain infrastructure company that provides a one-stop API platform for businesses to integrate stablecoin payments. Its core business is to package complex blockchain operations—such as wallet creation, fiat-to-crypto conversion, cross-chain settlement, and compliance checks—into simple, plug-and-play APIs. Enterprises can embed stablecoin payment functions into their apps within days without deep blockchain expertise.
The company's key narrative is "making the blockchain invisible." It solves a major market pain: enterprises wanting to use stablecoins for payments often face fragmented infrastructure, needing to stitch together multiple vendors for wallets, on/off-ramps, compliance, and transaction monitoring. Crossmint consolidates these into one API, reducing integration time from months to days and cutting remittance costs by 50-70%.
In the past six months (Feb-Aug 2026), Crossmint has expanded its regulatory footprint. It obtained a MiCA authorization from Spain's CNMV, becoming an EU-recognized crypto asset service provider with passporting rights across 27 EU countries and the EEA. It also registered as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) and Money Services Business (MSB) in Canada, enabling compliant fiat on/off-ramps there. The company now serves 40,000+ enterprises and developers.
Notable challenges include: global regulatory fragmentation (US GENIUS Act vs. EU MiCA vs. emerging Asia-Pacific frameworks), the still-maturing AI agent economy which hasn't yet generated significant transaction volume, and intense competition in the wallet/stablecoin infrastructure space.
Crossmint, a blockchain infrastructure company, has reached several milestones with long-term significance. In March 2024, it completed a $23.6 million funding round led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from Franklin Templeton, Nyca, First Round, and Lightspeed Faction, supporting its expansion into enterprise-grade solutions. In 2025, Crossmint obtained a MiCA license from Spain's CNMV, enabling it to offer stablecoin infrastructure services across all 27 EU member states—a regulatory breakthrough that positions it as a compliant partner for financial institutions navigating Europe's evolving crypto framework. Additionally, the company received a strategic investment from Circle Ventures, strengthening its stablecoin ecosystem integrations, and partnered with Visa to enable AI-driven on-chain payments, bridging traditional finance with emerging agentic commerce. These developments underscore Crossmint's trajectory from a developer tooling platform to a regulated, scalable infrastructure provider for both human and AI-driven economic activity.
Over the past six months, Crossmint achieved major regulatory and product milestones. In March it applied for a PSD2 payment institution license with the Bank of Spain; after receiving MiCA class 2 CASP authorization and completing registration, it obtained full PSD2 authorization in July, becoming the first stablecoin infrastructure provider in the EU with coverage across both MiCA and PSD2 . In August it obtained Bank of Canada RPAA payment service provider registration and FINTRAC MSB registration, enabling regulated on/off ramps and cross-border transfers . It also launched a global fiat onramp covering 160+ countries with Apple Pay/Google Pay, embedded or headless modes, KYC/AML and chargeback protection . In September it partnered with Tala to embed Tala-underwritten on-chain credit into Crossmint, and deploy Crossmint smart wallets to 1M+ Tala customers in Mexico .
Future priorities: continue becoming a single regulated partner for enterprise fintechs, prepare for PSD3 and the EU Payment Services Regulation, align with Canada's 2027 stablecoin framework, and expand credit-as-a-service and global compliant payment networks.
