About Cournot Protocol

Cournot Protocol is an AI-native oracle focused on verifiable reasoning. Its core business provides on-chain resolution services for prediction markets and other decentralized applications, using AI agents to interpret complex real-world events and produce outcomes.

The core differentiator is Proof of Reasoning (PoR). Instead of simply submitting answers, Cournot structures the AI's decision-making process into a Merkle tree of atomic steps, such as data fetching, fact-checking, and final judgment. This creates a cryptographic audit trail that can be challenged and verified on-chain. A dual-path design separates fast TEE-based execution from slower permissionless verification, balancing speed with security.

The market pain point is the resolution bottleneck. Traditional human-voting oracles are slow, costly, and cannot scale to millions of nuanced events. API-based oracles can retrieve data but cannot verify meaning or interpret unstructured information. Cournot addresses this by making AI judgment auditable and economically accountable, enabling scalable resolution for subjective, localized, or rapidly changing events.

In the past six months, Cournot became the official AI-native resolution layer for 42, an event trading protocol. This integration provides real-time monitoring and evidence-backed evaluation for 42's markets. Cournot also launched a World Cup 2026 signal campaign, using its AI layer to continuously track lineup changes, injuries, and breaking news. No significant negative incidents were reported during this period.
