About Cobo
Cobo is a digital asset custody and wallet infrastructure provider serving institutional clients. Its core business includes custodial wallets secured by hardware isolation (HSM, Intel SGX), MPC-based non-custodial wallets, smart contract wallets, and exchange wallets, all accessible through a unified API and SDK. The platform supports over 80 blockchains and 3,000+ tokens, with built-in compliance tools such as KYT screening and policy controls.
Cobo's key differentiators are its security architecture and regulatory readiness. It maintains a zero-breach record since 2017, holds SOC 2 Type II certification, ISO 27001 compliance, and licenses in Hong Kong and the US. The company addresses two major market pain points: counterparty risk in OTC stablecoin settlements, and the lack of controlled autonomy for AI agents handling real funds.
In the past six months (Feb-Aug 2026), Cobo launched two major products. In April, it introduced Agentic Wallet (CAW), the first MPC-based self-custodial wallet for AI agents, featuring the Pact human-agent authorization protocol and a Recipe skill system for reliable on-chain execution. In July, it launched Settlement Network (SN), a bilateral clearing infrastructure that locks both fiat and stablecoin legs before automatic execution, reducing settlement risk for institutional stablecoin transactions. No significant negative events were reported during this period.
Founded in 2017, Cobo has evolved into a unified digital asset wallet platform integrating custodial, MPC, smart contract, and exchange wallets. Key milestones include:
- 2018: Completed Pre-A and Series A funding, establishing early product lines (Cobo Wallet, Vault, Custody).
- 2021: Raised $40M in Series B, backed by DST Global and others, solidifying institutional trust.
- 2024-2025: Achieved SOC 2 Type I/II and ISO 27001 certifications, with licenses across multiple jurisdictions, reinforcing compliance leadership.
- 2025: Integrated TON blockchain, expanding multi-chain support to 80+ networks and 3,000+ tokens.
- 2026: Launched the Settlement Network (SN), a neutral execution layer eliminating first-mover risk in stablecoin clearing by synchronizing fiat and on-chain asset locking. Became a global partner of Google's Agent Payment Protocol (AP2), with real-world applications planned for Q1 2026.
These milestones highlight Cobo's shift from custody products to foundational infrastructure for institutional digital asset operations.
In April 2026, Cobo launched the Adoption Clearing Layer (ACL), linking blockchain ecosystem incentives to institutional payment flows with up to 15 bps per transaction, alongside inaugural partners Aptos and Morph. It also launched Cobo Agentic Wallet (CAW), an MPC-based wallet for AI agents featuring the Pact authorization protocol and Recipe skill layer, supporting over 80 chains and major AI frameworks. Additionally, Cobo introduced Settlement Network (SN), a bilateral stablecoin clearing and settlement infrastructure focused on fiat on-ramp settlements. Strategically, Cobo was selected as a Strategic Enterprise Partner by the Hong Kong SAR Government, planning to establish its Northeast Asia regional headquarters, invest several hundred million HKD by 2030, and advance R&D for CAW and the Google Agentic Payment (AP2) protocol. Future priorities include expanding ACL ecosystem partnerships and deepening AI-agent payment infrastructure in Hong Kong.
