About CHOMP

CHOMP is a fast-paced quiz game built on Solana that functions as a gamified social consensus platform. Players answer two questions per card: their own opinion and their prediction of what others think. The game uses the Surprisingly Popular algorithm to reward honest answers and accurate crowd predictions, with a three-part payout system covering accuracy, surprising minority views, and novelty.

The core value proposition is creating an "honesty layer" for the internet by surfacing what people actually believe on subjective topics where opinions shift daily—unlike traditional prediction markets that only handle objective outcomes. This subjective opinion data is difficult to obtain from public sources and has applications in AI model training and consumer research.

The main pain point addressed is the lack of reliable mechanisms to capture genuine human beliefs on subjective matters. Traditional polls suffer from strategic voting and social desirability bias, while prediction markets fail on non-objective questions. CHOMP's game-theoretic design incentivizes honest participation through its credit-based reward system: free-to-play Practice Decks offer no direct rewards, while paid Validate Decks require CREDITS but offer BONK rewards and credit returns for accurate answers.

In the past six months (2026-03-13 to 2026-09-13), CHOMP launched its iOS app in mid-April 2026, expanding beyond the PWA experience. The platform has been testing various question formats focused on entertainment and daily-life topics where belief drift is high, such as reality TV episode predictions. No significant negative developments were reported during this period, though the project remains in beta with evolving game mechanics.

Chomp (chomp.games) achieved milestone progress in the past six months. In August 2026, it completed a $3.6M funding round co-led by Jsquare and Blueyard, with participation from Accomplice and others. Its V1 had attracted ~50,000 users and generated 2M+ answers, used to map the gap between private beliefs and perceived social consensus.

Officially, Chomp is launching a new iOS version targeting Gen Z and millennial women, with plans to build multiple community-specific versions sharing the same underlying belief data. Beyond consumer use, Chomp applies anonymized, fully annotated opinion data to AI model training and consumer research, providing high-context subjective data. Its long-term vision is to build an "honesty layer" for the internet, correcting perceptions distorted by performative online behavior.
