Details

BunkerCoin is a radio-wave-based Layer 1 blockchain designed to operate independently of internet infrastructure. Its core mechanism enables nodes to communicate via shortwave (HF) radio, with a single-hop range of 2,500–5,000 miles, requiring only 10–20 nodes for global coverage. BunkerCoin employs a hybrid architecture that supports internet gateway access and allows users to bridge assets from chains like Solana, ensuring asset accessibility during internet outages or censorship. The project was conceived by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko in 2019, with fully open-source code and community-driven node operation and governance.
