About Bilinear Labs

Bilinear Labs is a blockchain data analytics platform that lets you query any event from any contract on any EVM chain using plain SQL. Its core feature, BYOABI (Bring Your Own ABI), allows users to declare contract addresses and event signatures inline, with decoding happening at query time — no pre-decoded tables, no waiting for vendor support. It has indexed 93+ billion events across 12 chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and Polygon, with near-real-time data (~30 min from chain head).

The platform solves a key pain point: most analytics platforms require contracts to be pre-decoded into per-contract tables, so if a contract isn't in their catalog, you wait or can't query it at all. Bilinear Labs stores raw logs and decodes on demand, making any contract queryable the instant it's deployed. It supports complex SQL (joins, CTEs, aggregations) and exposes results as public cached datasets for dashboards or AI agents.

Notable limitations: it's not a node (no state reads, no trace indexing), and the free tier is very limited for heavy iteration.

In the past six months (2026-03 to 2026-09), Bilinear Labs announced indexing 93+ billion events across 12 chains. However, in September 2026, Sei Labs acquired the company, and Bilinear Labs will cease operations on September 14, 2026, with the team joining Sei Labs to work on Sei Network and related projects.

Bilinear Labs, a blockchain data analytics and indexing platform, has gone through several milestones with long-term significance. In January 2026, the company open-sourced Quixote, an EVM blockchain indexer built with Rust and DuckDB, which had been tested under production loads handling billions of events. This marked a shift toward transparent, high-performance infrastructure for querying arbitrary on-chain events via plain SQL. By March 2026, Bilinear Labs announced it had indexed over 93 billion blockchain events across 12 chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and Polygon, with data available within roughly 30 minutes of chain head. This demonstrated the platform's scalability and its commitment to making blockchain data accessible to both human analysts and AI agents. The most significant turning point came in September 2026, when Sei Labs acquired Bilinear Labs. The team joined Sei Labs to contribute to Sei Network, Sei Giga, and other projects, while Bilinear Labs ceased operations on September 14. This acquisition validated the platform's technology, including its BYOABI (Bring Your Own ABI) approach, and integrated its capabilities into a major Layer 1 ecosystem, ensuring the technology's continued evolution within a larger framework.
