Details

Archer is a Solana-based decentralized exchange operating a fully on-chain central limit order book (CLOB). Its core mechanism is the "sovereign order book": each market maker has a dedicated account, eliminating write-lock contention from shared state and enabling conflict-free quote updates. Market makers place orders as offsets from a reference mid-price (parameterized pricing), allowing the entire book to be re-priced in a single operation with O(1) computational complexity. When a taker order arrives, the protocol aggregates liquidity across all active maker books and allocates fills pro-rata at the same price level, rewarding depth over speed. This design reduces market-making costs, tightens spreads, increases depth, and provides traders with an MEV-resistant on-chain matching environment.
