About Aperture Finance

Aperture Finance is an intent-centric solver network that lets users express their desired trading outcomes in plain language, while a network of competing solvers handles the underlying execution. Its core offering is a chatbot-style interface backed by a proprietary domain-specific language (DSL) and large language models, which translate natural language into structured intents. These intents are then matched and executed by solvers through an open marketplace, with a clearing house, ZK-based verification, and a ranking engine ensuring security and efficiency.

The main pain point it addresses is the complexity of DeFi: users often struggle with multi-step operations, slippage management, gas fees, and liquidity routing. By abstracting execution details, Aperture lowers the barrier for non-technical users while enabling solvers to compete on price and speed.

In the past six months (March to September 2026), Aperture suffered a significant security breach. In May 2026, an exploit in its smart contracts allowed attackers to drain approximately $3.67 million across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Base. The root cause was insufficient input validation and unsafe external calls, which let attackers bypass authorization checks. Following the incident, the team disabled front-end functions, urged users to revoke approvals, and collaborated with security firms. Later, on-chain data showed 1,242.7 ETH from the stolen funds being sent to Tornado Cash, indicating ongoing laundering activity. No major protocol upgrades or new feature launches were publicly confirmed during this period.
