About Agentcoin

Agentcoin is an AI agent network built on the legacy of Polywrap, designed to enable autonomous economic transactions between AI agents. Its core business involves a tokenized incentive system where agents can earn, pay, and settle value for completing tasks, verified through an on-chain work registry.

The market pain point it addresses is the inability of AI agents to directly participate in economic activities. Currently, agents lack native payment rails, requiring human intermediaries for every transaction, which creates friction and limits scalability. Agentcoin solves this by providing a trustless framework for agent-to-agent payments, using smart contracts to verify work completion and automatically distribute rewards.

Its core competitiveness lies in its first-mover advantage and technical foundation. As a pioneer in this niche, it benefits from network effects—more agents using the system increases transaction volume and token utility. The platform's open-source nature and focus on verifiable work also differentiate it from closed AI systems.

In the past six months (2026-02-28 to 2026-08-29), Agentcoin has focused on developer adoption and ecosystem growth. The project launched a testnet for its work registry, enabling early developers to experiment with agent-to-agent transactions. Community incentive programs were introduced to reward early testers and contributors. However, the project faced a setback in December 2025 when a smart contract vulnerability was discovered in its token vesting module, leading to a temporary pause and subsequent re-audit. The issue was resolved, and the system was redeployed with enhanced security measures. Despite this, the project has maintained steady development, with documentation updates and increased community engagement on its official channels.
