About ZKM
ZKM is a zero-knowledge protocol system built around a universal zkVM named Ziren (formerly zkMIPS). Its core business is providing a general-purpose verifiable computing infrastructure: developers write programs in languages like Rust, C, or Go, compile them to MIPS instructions, and Ziren generates zero-knowledge proofs that can be verified on-chain. The flagship product is the Entangled Rollup network, which uses cryptographic proofs to enable native cross-chain asset transfers and message passing without additional trust assumptions.
Its key competitive advantage is the combination of a production-grade zkVM with a trustless interoperability layer. Unlike many ZK projects that focus only on scaling a single chain, ZKM addresses a broader pain point: existing cross-chain bridges rely on multisigs or light clients, which are either insecure or expensive. ZKM replaces these with proof-based verification, allowing any two chains to communicate securely.
In the past six months (Feb-Aug 2026), ZKM released Ziren v1.2.5, which improved support for larger Geth workloads, hardened Linux syscall handling, and kept the Groth16 verification key stable across upgrades—important for BitVM2-style systems. The team also demonstrated faster block state preparation by switching from Revm to Reth, reducing prep time from ~5 minutes to under 30 seconds. These updates show a focus on real-world performance and integration stability rather than headline features.
