About Whetstone
Whetstone was founded by Austin Adams, a former Uniswap Labs researcher who contributed to Uniswap v4, and includes team members from Primitive Finance. The team completed a $1.3 million pre-seed round backed by Variant, Nascent, and others. Their first product, Doppler, is an EVM-based token issuance and liquidity bootstrapping protocol that leverages Uniswap v4 hooks to run liquidity-guided auctions, addressing bot sniping and enabling programmable vesting. Doppler launched on Unichain mainnet, then expanded to Kraken's ink and Coinbase's Base L2s, marking a multi-chain deployment milestone. These steps—team formation, funding, protocol innovation, and cross-chain expansion—represent the project's foundational and long-term significance.
