About WaterX
WaterX is a decentralized perpetual contract trading platform built on the Sui blockchain. Unlike traditional order-book DEXs, it uses oracle prices directly, allowing trades to execute at the aggregated index price without price impact. Users can trade crypto and tokenized equities (xStock) with up to 50x leverage, using USDC or USDsui as margin in isolated mode. The platform charges funding and borrow fees hourly.
Its core differentiator is an AI-native architecture. It supports both human traders and AI agents through delegate keys, isolated sub-accounts, and risk containment mechanisms. Login is simplified via zkLogin (Google sign-in), gas is sponsored, and signless trading is enabled for supported accounts. An AI copilot assists with market insights and trade execution.
WaterX addresses key pain points in DeFi: fragmented liquidity across protocols, price impact on large orders, and high entry barriers for non-crypto-native users. By aggregating perps, prediction markets, and RWAs into one unified margin account, it aims to reduce capital inefficiency and simplify multi-asset trading.
In the past six months (March–September 2026), WaterX launched its prediction market "WaterX Predict" on July 7, 2026, with a month-long campaign. The platform also expanded asset listings to include commodities, forex, and pre-IPO markets like SpaceX. However, at launch, trading volume was zero, reflecting an early-stage rollout. No major negative incidents were reported during this period, though the platform's real-world performance under live conditions remains unproven.
In the past six months, WaterX progressed from Beta to full launch. On July 8, 2026, WaterX officially launched its AI-native trading gateway on Sui, integrating perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and RWAs. Earlier, the platform completed upgrades for multi-chain deposits and a unified account system, allowing one account to trade multiple products. Meanwhile, WaterX launched Predict, a prediction market, and kicked off a month-long campaign where users could predict events like the World Cup to earn rewards. Additionally, WaterX was selected into the Sui Foundation's Moonshots program, gaining ecosystem support.
For future focus, WaterX will deepen its AI-agent trading infrastructure, enabling humans and AI agents to execute trades on the same platform; expand prediction markets to more domains, and plan to support more networks and asset classes. The official also emphasized continued development of RWA products and optimizing cross-chain experiences.
