About Vangrid

Vangrid is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that builds a crowdsourced spatial data layer for Physical AI, autonomous systems, and defense applications. Contributors use smartphones to capture short videos at requested locations, which are then processed into 3D spatial models. The network verifies each capture through cryptographic proofs recorded on-chain, ensuring data authenticity and origin.

The core value proposition lies in combining decentralized data collection with on-chain verification. Traditional mapping companies rely on expensive, centrally owned fleets, while pure crowdsourcing often struggles with data quality and provenance. Vangrid addresses this by using edge-computed privacy (anonymizing faces and license plates before data leaves the device), cryptographic provenance (each capture is cryptographically signed and verified on-chain), multi-view ingestion (collecting data from multiple angles for 3D reconstruction), and an enterprise spatial API for business access.

The network operates on a demand-driven model: buyers create requests at specific locations and fund bounties, while contributors earn rewards by submitting data that meets requirements and passes verification. This ensures data collection aligns with actual market needs rather than speculative supply.

In the past six months (March to September 2026), Vangrid has maintained an active network with its web and Android apps live, an iOS app in development, and strategic data partnerships signed. The public explorer shows nearly 100,000 verified captures, around 200,000 grid events, and over 1,300 batch attestations. However, the project remains in early stages: the token has not yet been launched, and no official token contract, supply details, or distribution schedule have been disclosed. Independent verification of network scale beyond the project's own explorer is limited.

In the past six months, Vangrid secured key funding and advanced its DePIN spatial data network. In August 2026, it announced a $9 million seed round via SAFT, backed by HashKey, Borderless, Crypto.com Capital, Animoca Brands, Gate Labs, and Mapleblock, with funds allocated to network bootstrapping, edge-computation pipeline expansion, and enterprise partnerships. The network has accumulated nearly 100,000 verified captures, 200,000 grid events, and over ь,300 on-chain batch attestations, with web and Android apps live and MOUs signed with defense and robotics organizations.

Looking ahead, Vangrid targets mainnet launch in Q4 2026–Q1 2027, token launch in Q1–Q2 2027, and initial coverage across critical corridors such as highways, urban centers, and logistics hubs. It plans to begin enterprise pilots with autonomous vehicle and robotics partners. Operator unit economics are a primary design constraint, targeting positive economics for over 50% of spatial data contributors by 2027–2028.
