About Uplink

Uplink is a decentralized connectivity platform that lets individuals share their home Wi-Fi routers to earn rewards, while enterprises and telecom operators can purchase this aggregated connectivity as a service. Its core value lies in building a community-owned wireless network that integrates with OpenRoaming standards, enabling seamless automatic authentication across different networks. The market pain point it addresses is the high cost and coverage gaps of traditional telecom infrastructure, especially in dense urban areas or temporary high-demand scenarios. By incentivizing distributed router owners, Uplink creates a low-cost, rapidly deployable alternative to conventional hotspot expansion. In the past six months (Feb-Aug 2026), Uplink has grown to over 5.5 million registered routers and 300,000+ users, with the mobile app surpassing 85,000 downloads. The team has focused on improving app stability, user experience, and backend database infrastructure to handle the scaling network. A notable milestone was the launch of its live Connectivity Marketplace, a commercial exchange for Wi-Fi offload and neutral host transactions, which went live with initial participants in high-density venues and travel connectivity providers. No significant negative events were reported during this period.
