About Unblock Global
Unblock Global is an Argentine energy and compute company founded in 2021 that captures associated gas at oil wells instead of flaring it and burns it on site to power machines. Its unit is a 2 MW containerised data centre parked at the wellhead, where gas intake, generation and hashing happen in one chain and deployment is measured in months. At the Los Toldos project in Vaca Muerta, eight 1.5 MW generators produce roughly 12 MW from associated gas, modular halls run Antminer units at about 100 TH/s, and well testing lifted output from 270 to 2,000 barrels per day.
The business monetises stranded energy: operators earn on gas that would have been burned, emission reductions count toward their Scope 1 and 2 accounting, and the company receives bitcoin plus a growing book of AI compute work. Customers include local operators such as Pampa Energía, Pluspetrol, Tecpetrol and GeoPark, and delivery is equipment plus operations rather than plain hosting. Activity is concentrated in the single Vaca Muerta basin, so output follows oil and gas prices and drilling schedules.
In the second quarter of 2026, Unblock Global's hashrate in Argentina fell about 42% year-over-year, mainly because Bitfarms shut down a 40MW local site. Its Unblock Computos business continues to mine Bitcoin using associated gas at the Vaca Muerta oil-and-gas field with partners Crusoe, Pampa and Petrocuyo—a business that raised $15 million back in 2023.
Future strategy and roadmap: Unblock Global will continue its clean-mining model powered by stranded energy such as associated gas, expand hashrate deployment in Argentina and neighboring regions, and explore further financialization of its compute and energy assets.
