About TROVE
Trove Markets is a perpetuals exchange for collectibles and alternative assets, with markets for Pokemon cards, CS2 skins, luxury handbags and prediction-market outcomes, aiming to bring normally opaque and illiquid physical collectibles on-chain with leverage and hedging tools. It first planned to deploy on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 framework, and during its testnet phase published cumulative volume and trader counts.
After a public token sale in January 2026, the project said the liquidity partner supplying the large stake required for deployment exited and unwound the position, removing its access to the Hyperliquid setup, and it then announced a full rebuild of the perps exchange on Solana with the token generation event postponed repeatedly. After the move, TROVE opened on Solana and fell sharply within minutes against thin liquidity; the team retained a portion of proceeds, started pro-rata refunds, and stated it is still building and maintaining a public beta. The sequence of timeline changes, the migration and the post-launch price action has made it a recurring case study in early DeFi launch risk.
TROVE ran a public token sale from January 8, 2026 to 01-11, targeting USD 2.5 million but drawing about USD 11.5 million in subscriptions under an oversubscription pro-rata refund model.
On January 18 the TROVE team announced it was abandoning its Hyperliquid deployment and rebuilding its perpetual exchange from scratch on Solana, after a liquidity partner withdrew its 500,000 HYPE stake; on 01-19 the token launched on Solana and fell more than 95% within ten minutes to about USD 0.0008, cutting fully diluted valuation from roughly USD 20 million to under USD 1 million. The TROVE team then confirmed it would retain USD 9,397,403 to fund the Solana build and refund only about USD 2.44 million plus a further USD 100,000, triggering refund demands and calls for litigation. Bubblemaps traced one entity holding about 12% of supply across 80 freshly created wallets, but found no evidence directly linking it to the team.
