About Tori Finance
Tori Finance is a decentralized yield protocol whose core products are the synthetic dollar trUSD and its staked version strUSD. Its business is to bring institutional-grade market-neutral strategies (such as global money-market short-term carry, futures arbitrage, and calendar spreads) on-chain, allowing users to access them with just a Web3 wallet and no KYC. The market pain point: the stablecoin market exceeds $300 billion, but most holders earn zero yield; existing solutions like T-bill wrappers, basis trade protocols, and credit protocols each have limitations (capped yields, high volatility, default risk, etc.). Tori uses hedged, market-neutral strategies where returns come from pricing gaps rather than market direction, backed by continuous audits, on-chain proofs, and a reserve fund.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), strUSD launched and reached $50 million in pre-deposited amounts within 7 days. In September 2026, D2 Finance publicly questioned Tori's remediation for the $454K loss caused by the Term Finance governance incident, including why 250,500 trUSD were minted, the source of collateral, the involvement of a Kraken hot wallet, and a buffer of only $17,600 (about 3 basis points). Previously, Tori and RockawayX claimed the loss had been fully covered.
Tori Finance, a decentralized yield protocol, completed a seed funding round led by Delphi Ventures, marking its initial institutional backing and validation of its approach to tokenizing institutional-grade yield strategies.
Prior to its official launch, Tori raised $50 million in pre-deposits for its flagship product strUSD within just 7 days, demonstrating strong market demand. strUSD packages delta-neutral arbitrage strategies traditionally used by large institutions, making them accessible on-chain with real-time audits by Accountable and risk management by RockawayX. These milestones establish Tori's foundation for bringing real-world yield infrastructure into DeFi.
Tori Finance, a Dutch crypto yield protocol, made significant progress in H1 2026. Its flagship institutional-grade delta-neutral yield product strUSD completed a $50 million pre-deposit raise in just 7 days before official launch, reaching the cap on July 27, 2026. The product offers approximately 12% APY derived from global carry trades (borrowing low-rate currencies like USD, depositing in high-yield markets, with FX hedging), a strategy traditionally reserved for large institutions. Tori democratizes access by tokenizing these strategies on-chain: users deposit USDC/USDT to mint trUSD (a synthetic dollar), then stake it for strUSD, an ERC-20 reward token composable with DeFi protocols like Morpho, Pendle, and Curve, and usable as collateral for leveraged looping.
Looking ahead, Tori's roadmap focuses on expanding its reserve attestation system (via Accountable, using zero-knowledge proofs in trusted execution environments), deepening integrations with lending and yield platforms, and growing its multi-jurisdiction compliance framework. The protocol emphasizes security through multiple audits (Sherlock, Nethermind), 24/7 monitoring (Hypernative), and a reserve fund to absorb drawdowns. Future development will prioritize scaling the mint/redeem infrastructure for verified participants while maintaining permissionless swap-and-stake access for most users, with a points program ("Cores") rewarding ecosystem participation.
