About Token Relations
Token Relations is an information company that runs investor relations for on-chain projects, founded by former TechCrunch reporter Jacquelyn Melinek, replacing algorithmic social media with email, podcasts and research to reach token holders, developers and ecosystem projects directly. It addresses the lack of structured communication between projects and holders, where announcements are diluted in feeds and milestones rarely become traceable records. Its mechanism writes project milestones into a structured database and publishes them through a subscription API and dashboards, lifting that communication away from platform algorithms; the service launched with Avalanche, Aptos and Optimism as early partners, packaging newsletters, dashboards and video into a subscription information layer, fully bootstrapped, positioned to fill long-term project-to-holder communication beyond public relations.
Its parent has since been renamed StrataMedia, combining Talking Tokens and The Market Runup to reach readers in 183 countries; the trade-off is revenue that depends on project subscriptions, coverage that swings with the crypto media cycle, and the open question of whether investor relations converts into lasting holder trust.
On April 9, 2024, former TechCrunch reporter Jacquelyn Melinek and Anthony Pompliano co-founded Token Relations to provide investor relations for crypto projects rather than conventional PR.
Launch partners included Avalanche, Aptos and Optimism. The platform used email, podcasts and research to reach token holders, developers and ecosystem projects directly, bypassing algorithmic social media, and was fully bootstrapped.
In 2025, Melinek bought out Pompliano's stake to become sole founder, expanding from newsletters into dashboards, video and a new business line as subscriptions and revenue grew.
On April 8, 2026, the parent was renamed StrataMedia, combining Token Relations, Talking Tokens and The Market Runup. It reached 130,000 subscribers in 183 countries, with clients including Solana, Ripple and Chainlink.
In April 2026, on its second anniversary, Token Relations renamed its parent company StrataMedia and brought Token Relations, the Talking Tokens podcast, The Market Runup and the newly launched Institutional Insights under one brand; it has 130,000 subscribers across 183 countries and recorded 8.5 million views in 2025, up 280% year on year.
Clients and partners of Token Relations include Fireblocks, Solana, Chainlink, Avalanche, Ripple, Polygon, Hedera, Aptos, Injective and Securitize, and more than 50 crypto, traditional finance, fintech and venture firms subscribe to its investor updates; coverage has grown from ecosystem news to semi-annual reports and features on stablecoins, DeFi and RWA tokenization, plus dashboards on DeFi volume, stablecoin supply and network activity for partner chains.
Token Relations's Future strategy and roadmap: Under the StrataMedia brand the next step is deepening the research products: the market maker leaderboard built with Forgd goes public for the first time, drawing on more than 500 token projects and 35 market-making firms to add pricing, depth and reliability data as a missing input in token research, and goes live on DefiLlama in parallel; the two will also co-publish a market and token newsletter to 130,000 subscribers. The new StrataMedia Surveys series runs short questionnaires on one topic, starting with agentic payments, while the institutional side uses Institutional Insights to serve communications and research needs for traditional financial institutions and has taken on distribution for the Franklin Crypto Research Competition.
Jacquelyn Melinek founded Token Relations and is chief executive. She holds a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, interned at News & Observer and on Bloomberg's Americas oil trading desk, joined Blockworks to cover digital assets, and in March 2022 became a senior crypto reporter at TechCrunch where she hosted the Chain Reaction podcast. In April 2024 she launched this project with Anthony Pompliano.
Anthony Pompliano is co-founder. He started in banking and equity research before becoming an investor and commentator, and bootstrapped the project with his own capital in 2024, taking charge of capital and commercial work.
The split is clear: Melinek runs content and client relationships while Pompliano handles capital and business development.
In April 2026 the parent company was reorganised as StrataMedia, with Melinek as chief executive.
