About StackingDAO

Stacking DAO is the staking infrastructure layer on Stacks, turning STX stacking rewards into transferable tokens. Depositing STX returns stSTX, whose redemption rate rises as bitcoin rewards are converted to STX and compounded into the backing contract every 75 blocks; stSTXbtc instead distributes rewards in sBTC daily. A separate native delegation path charges no fee, locks STX for the two-week cycle and streams BTC to an address the user chooses.

Rewards originate in Stacks' Proof of Transfer consensus: miners bid BTC for the right to produce blocks, and that BTC funds stacking payouts, so returns are denominated in bitcoin, a rare native yield source inside Bitcoin DeFi. stSTX and stSTXbtc trade on Bitflow and serve as collateral on Zest, which prices away part of the two-week unlock discount. On 3 September 2026 the protocol launched stBTC, the first bitcoin liquid staking token on Stacks, and its initial 150 BTC capacity filled within 24 hours; in October most of the 500 BTC second bond was allocated to Stacking DAO. The site reports about $71.15 million in value locked and $5.06 million in lifetime rewards, and the code has been through seven audits alongside an ongoing Immunefi bounty.

StackingDAO launched its stBTC liquid-staking token on September 3, 2026, with the initial 150 BTC allocation filling within 24 hours; current supply stands at 636 BTC with TVL above 85 million USD. Bitcoin staking went live on mainnet, with the Genesis Bond on September 10 raising 230 BTC and Bond 2 on October 8 reaching 505 BTC, of which 483 BTC came through stBTC. STX staked rose from 392 million to 493 million, an increase of about 25%.

Future strategy and roadmap: Looking ahead, StackingDAO will grow stBTC adoption across Bitcoin staking and DeFi, enrich yield and lending use cases built on stBTC, and keep iterating its mainnet staking products with broader cross-protocol integrations.
