About Stablecorp

Stablecorp is a Canadian fintech company focused on digital currency infrastructure. Its core product is QCAD, a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Canadian dollar, with reserves held in an Ontario trust. The company provides APIs that let businesses issue, redeem, and transfer QCAD, essentially acting as a bridge between traditional banking and blockchain networks.

The main market pain points Stablecorp addresses are the inefficiencies in cross-border payments and interbank settlements. Traditional systems often involve multiple intermediaries, limited operating hours, and settlement delays, which increase costs and capital lock-up. By using blockchain rails, QCAD enables near-instant, 24/7 transactions with transparent and auditable records, reducing counterparty risk and improving capital efficiency.

In the past six months (February to August 2026), Stablecorp announced a significant milestone: QCAD was integrated with Circle's StableFX platform, enabling the first on-chain CAD/USD settlement. This integration, initially running on the Arc testnet, allows for atomic payment-versus-payment settlement between QCAD and USDC, eliminating the need for pre-funded nostro accounts and reducing settlement risk. The service is expected to move to production after Arc's mainnet launch. This development positions QCAD as a practical tool for institutional FX flows, though broader adoption still depends on regulatory clarity in Canada.
