About Spritehood

Spritehood is an NFT project on Robinhood Chain, launched by the team behind the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem. Its first collection, Spritehood Wisps, consists of 44,444 NFTs, each permanently bound to a character class (e.g., Warrior, Mage, Rogue). Holders can burn their Wisp to summon and customize a unique Sprite, with future plans for dungeon exploration and tavern mechanics.

The project's core narrative is an experimental fantasy RPG adventure rather than static profile pictures. It aims to build an interactive NFT ecosystem on Robinhood Chain, leveraging the chain's low fees and retail-friendly user base.

A key market pain point is the lack of verified smart contracts on emerging chains. Spritehood's contract remains unverified on the block explorer, limiting transparency and independent auditability. This has drawn criticism that the project may be a cash grab, potentially draining liquidity from the new chain without delivering long-term value.

Over the past six months, Spritehood launched on August 11, 2026, and sold out in about 53 minutes, raising approximately $1.28 million (684 ETH). The sale included 37,430 NFTs at $17 and 5,526 at $117. However, the contract's unverified status and the lack of clear utility have fueled community skepticism. No reliable information confirms any significant development or partnerships during this period.

Key progress (Mar–Sep 2026):

In July, co-founder Cole Villemain previewed the project, saying he believed Spritehood could become the leading NFT collection on Robinhood Chain. On Aug 11, Spritehood launched its debut collection, Spritehood Wisps, on Robinhood Chain — 44,444 NFTs sold out in about 53 minutes, generating roughly $1.28M (≈684 ETH) in on-chain revenue. The mint became a breakout moment for the Robinhood Chain NFT wave; Beeple shared a “ROBINHOOD SAVING NFTS” meme and Robinhood co-founder Vlad Tenev engaged. The fantasy RPG-style series binds each Wisp to a permanent class (Warrior, Knight, Mage, etc.), and holders can burn Wisps to summon and customize their own Sprites. Note: the WISP contract was unverified on the block explorer.

Future focus & roadmap:

The project is positioned as an “experimental NFT adventure”, built around four factions (Moonvane, Wyldroot, Ironvow, Moth Court), with Dungeon, Tavern and other gameplay planned — emphasizing customizable characters and playability rather than static collectibles.
