About Sixpence

Sixpence is a blockchain data infrastructure project focused on providing structured on-chain data services for financial institutions, exchanges, and regulators. Its core business includes building proprietary full archival nodes and indexers to collect, clean, and standardize raw blockchain data, then delivering it through a unified API or MCP server. The project also develops compliance products, such as tax and audit software, aimed at helping regulated entities meet reporting and verification requirements.

The main problem Sixpence addresses is the difficulty traditional finance faces in using raw blockchain data directly—due to inconsistency, lack of standardization, and compliance risks. By offering a self-hostable or cloud-based data plane with auditable lineage down to transaction IDs, it aims to make blockchain data reliable enough for enterprise and regulatory use.

Regarding recent developments, public information is limited. The project was selected by Coinbase for a grant to advance proof-of-reserves research, indicating some industry recognition. However, no verifiable updates on product releases, partnerships, or technical milestones between February and August 2026 were found in the provided sources. No significant negative events were identified either.

Updated: Aug 31, 2026

In March 2026, Sixpence completed its Pre-Mainnet Tester Campaign, allowing users to participate in testing and provide liquidity. Concurrently, the official airdrop campaign started on March 16 to incentivize early participants. The testnet is live, enabling users to experience platform features, including lending against tokenized assets. Previously, the project rebranded from OpenLayer to Sixpence and raised $5 million, supported by The Spartan Group, a16z CSX, among others.

Regarding future development focus, the team plans to continue developing the lending protocol, supporting more RWA assets, and plans to launch a token sale. The airdrop campaign is still ongoing, with more details expected to be announced.
