About Schuman Financial
Schuman Financial is a French electronic money institution supervised by the ACPR that issues the euro stablecoin EURØP under MiCA. The token is backed one to one by euro cash and high quality liquid assets plus a roughly 2% buffer, with reserves at regulated institutions including Societe Generale and quarterly parity attestations from KPMG; minting and redemption are open to qualified business clients while retail users convert through partner wallets and exchanges. It is deployed on Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Solana, the XRP Ledger and Plasma.
The aim is not another mirror of a dollar asset but to fill the on-chain gap for the euro: euro stablecoins hold under 1% of market value while the euro accounts for about 20% of global reserves, so cross-border settlement and tokenised assets have long detoured through dollar rails. On 5 October 2026 the company formed the Eurøpe Consortium with eToro, SwissBorg, Coinhouse, DFNS and seven other firms to push EURØP through distribution, infrastructure, use cases and market education. Liquidity remains concentrated in a few venues such as Kraken and Bitvavo and a handful of Curve and Orca pools, too thin to absorb large institutional conversions.
On October 5, 2026, Schuman Financial, together with eToro, SwissBorg, Coinhouse, Coinmerce, DFNS, LCX, BLOX, Assetera, XRPL Commons and RockawayX, launched the Eurøpe Consortium in Paris, with its euro stablecoin EURØP as the first programme. EURØP circulates on six chains — Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Solana, the XRP Ledger and Plasma — recorded EUR 116.8 million of transfers in the past 30 days, holds reserves at Societe Generale and other institutions, and publishes quarterly parity attestations from KPMG. On March 5, Unique Digital Assets integrated EURØP into its OTC trading, payments and custody services.
The consortium that Schuman Financial is part of will work along four lines — access and distribution, infrastructure integration, payment and tokenisation use cases, and market education — to narrow an imbalance in which dollar stablecoins account for roughly 99% of market value.
