About Roboto Games

Roboto Games is an independent game studio developing Stormforge, an open-world survival crafting game set in a fantasy world. The core gameplay loop revolves around crafting, building, fighting, and harnessing the power of magical storms, which serve as both a threat and a resource.

Their stated design philosophy is "good alone, great together," meaning the game is built to be fully enjoyable as a solo experience while also supporting seamless real-time multiplayer across platforms. This addresses a common market pain point: the difficulty of playing games with friends due to incompatible devices, mismatched schedules, or overly complex multiplayer setups. Roboto Games aims to lower these barriers so that even short, asynchronous play sessions with friends feel rewarding.

In the six months leading up to September 2026, the studio released a free playable demo of Stormforge on August 18, 2026. Coverage around the launch highlighted that storm-diving—entering dangerous storm systems—is designed as a loot-gathering mechanic rather than a pure hazard, reinforcing the game's core fantasy of mastering storms. The studio also showcased the game at Gamescom 2025 and ran closed alpha playtests, with ongoing community engagement through regular gameplay trailers and developer updates.

In the past six months, Roboto Games completed a $15 million Series A funding round in March 2026, led by a16z with participation from Animoca Brands and others. The funds will be used to develop the Web3 MMO game "Foragers & Fighters," which combines gameplay from "Genshin Impact" and "Minecraft" with a focus on UGC content. The officially announced development priorities include allowing players to host their own servers and use blockchain technology for long-term data storage to ensure game sustainability, as well as developing a mod platform to encourage player creativity. The team, composed of veterans from PopCap and EA, is committed to creating cross-platform social gaming experiences.
