Redpill is a decentralized AI aggregation platform that provides a unified OpenAI-compatible API gateway, connecting developers to 200+ AI models from providers like Phala, NEAR, and Chutes. Its core value proposition is privacy-first AI inference: all requests are routed through Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), ensuring that prompts and responses are encrypted and never stored or used for training. The platform addresses key market pain points such as data leakage in centralized AI services, vendor lock-in, and lack of verifiable security. Redpill offers smart routing (optimizing for cost or latency), virtual API keys with granular usage controls, and cryptographic attestation reports for every request, enabling enterprises to meet compliance requirements like HIPAA. In the past six months (March to September 2026), Redpill has expanded its model catalog to include specialized open-source models like DeepSeek V3 and Qwen, introduced an end-to-end encrypted chat interface (Redpill Chat) with private RAG capabilities, and enhanced its developer tools with SDKs for Python and TypeScript. The platform has also strengthened its verification framework, making it easier for auditors to independently validate TEE claims. No significant negative events have been reported in the last two years.
Redpill has made significant progress in the private AI gateway space over the past six months. The project now aggregates 60+ models across four TEE providers (Phala, NearAI, Chutes, Tinfoil), all running on Intel TDX + NVIDIA CC hardware. Key developments include: (1) a unified OpenAI-compatible API requiring only a base URL change for migration; (2) smart routing that optimizes for availability, price, or end-to-end encrypted paths, with private mode never downgrading to non-TEE fallbacks; (3) virtual keys (sk-rp-*) with per-key budgets and rate limits; (4) E2EE v2 using AES-256-GCM with secp256k1 key exchange and nonce binding; (5) a verifier tool (redpill-verifier npm package) supporting light mode (no Docker) and deep mode (Intel attestation via dstack-verifier), with on-chain verification on Sepolia and Automata Mainnet. The roadmap focuses on expanding verified provider coverage, deepening audit session capabilities with signed receipts, and growing the developer-first ecosystem around the gateway API.
