About Ramp Network

Ramp Network provides fiat-to-crypto payment infrastructure, enabling users to buy, sell, and swap digital assets directly within self-custodial wallets or apps. Its core business integrates on-ramp (fiat purchase), off-ramp (fiat withdrawal), and cross-chain swap services through a single API, serving partners like MetaMask and Trust Wallet.

Market pain point: self-custody users previously had to juggle multiple platforms for buying, exchanging, and cashing out, which was cumbersome and error-prone. Ramp solves this by embedding all these functions into one interface, allowing users to retain full control of their assets while enjoying a smooth experience similar to centralized apps.

In the past six months (2026-02-28 to 2026-08-29), Ramp launched a multichain self-custodial wallet that integrates fiat on/off ramps and swaps, initially supporting Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Linea, MegaETH, Optimism, Polygon zkEVM, and zkSync Era. The wallet is available globally except in the EU, where the company is still completing MiCA compliance procedures. This delay is a notable limitation, as EU users cannot yet access the new wallet. No other major negative events were reported during this period.

Founded in 2018, Ramp Network is a UK-based fiat-to-crypto payment infrastructure provider offering on/off-ramp services across 150+ countries and 38+ blockchains. In 2025, the company achieved two regulatory milestones: obtaining Money Transmitter Licenses in six additional US states (Alabama, Alaska, Maryland, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio), bringing its coverage to all 50 states plus Washington D.C. — a significant expansion given that several of these states were previously considered challenging markets. The same year, Ramp's Irish entity (Ramp Swaps Ireland Limited) received the Crypto Asset Service Provider authorization under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) from the Central Bank of Ireland, placing it among the first companies to operate under the EU's unified crypto regulatory framework. Beyond licensing, Ramp shifted from pure infrastructure to a consumer-facing product, launching its app with wallet, cross-chain swaps, and a redesigned checkout — supporting 135+ assets with stablecoin accounts and USDC card spending planned for 2026. These regulatory and product milestones mark Ramp's transition from a niche infrastructure provider to a regulated, mainstream on/off-ramp platform.
