About Pulsechain
PulseChain, an Ethereum hard fork, began with a unique sacrifice phase in 2021, raising billions in donations to fund development and public causes. On May 13, 2023, the mainnet launched, copying Ethereum's state at snapshot, granting 1:1 copies of ETH, ERC-20s, and NFTs to holders, and executing one of crypto's largest airdrops. This established an instant user base and liquidity. The native token PLS features deflationary burns and PoS staking, while PulseX serves as the core DEX. In August 2025, the BetterBank DeFi protocol on PulseChain suffered a $5 million exploit due to a flawed bonus-minting function, highlighting critical security risks in the ecosystem. The attacker returned $2.7 million, but the incident underscored the need for rigorous audits and validation, marking a significant lesson for the network's maturation.
Founder: Richard Heart, creator of HEX and PulseChain, a prominent DeFi advocate known for the PulseChain hard fork and PulseX exchange. No reliable information on other co-founders or current core executives.
