Pixelmon is an open-world RPG NFT game built around a player-owned IP model. Its core business includes game development and IP commercialization. The project operates two NFT systems: Genesis NFTs, which grant holders shared IP rights and royalty revenue from commercial use, and in-game NFTs for gameplay. Games include Kevin the Adventurer, PixelPals, and Hunting Grounds. Its key narrative is the Right-of-Game mechanism, which decentralizes IP ownership, allowing Genesis holders to participate in IP licensing and profit sharing, while players expand the ecosystem through free-to-play titles. The market pain point it addresses is the unsustainability of early play-to-earn models, which often prioritized short-term rewards over game quality and led to economic collapse. Pixelmon's solution separates collector and player roles, aiming to create a cycle where collectors drive IP value and players grow the user base. In the past six months, Pixelmon integrated its mascot Kevin into Yuga Labs' Otherside metaverse as a playable avatar for Gen 1 NFT holders.
