About PIP(Peer Protocol)
PIP (Peer Protocol) is a Web3 payment layer built on the idea of overlaying crypto payment capability onto the social and content platforms people already use, rather than building a new social network from scratch. After installing a browser extension, users can send and receive money directly on platforms such as Twitter, Twitch, Discord, GitHub, and Reddit; recipients can be located through a human-readable PIP Tag without registering, and funds land directly in their own wallet with no withdrawal step.
Beyond social payments, PIP offers a set of collection tools for individuals and merchants: PIP ME is a Web3 profile page that can be attached to a social profile for tips, donations, and content monetization; Pay Button lets site owners embed a payment button without writing code; and there are payment links, invoices, and an online store (Checkout) module covering scenarios from tipping to e-commerce. The protocol supports multiple chains including Solana, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, and Avalanche, works with major wallets such as Phantom and MetaMask, and has released Peer, a mobile app for global money transfers. The project reports a user base in the hundreds of thousands, dozens of supported currencies, and cumulative payments processed exceeding $600 million.
